!!! and The Field - Cane's in Mission Beach - 27 September, 2007

Get ready to shake some ass, San Diego. !!! (say: chk chk chk) is going to have their way with the excellent 'Cane's bar and grill in Mission Beach on Thursday, September 27th, 2007.

One of our favorite acts from Coachella 2007 was !!!, and Pitchfork has just reported that they're teaming up with The Field for a tour. We just got a copy of Myth Takes, the latest effort from !!!, and it's mostly fantastic. While we only caught the first four songs of their set at Coachella, it was one of the most memorable ones of the whole festy.

'Cane's usually has tickets for their events upstairs at the bar, which is probably our favorite haunt in the entire city. Stop by, have a beer, grab a ticket (cash only) and enjoy the anticipation. Oh, and the hot waitresses.

Pelican to headline at The Casbah - August 9, 2007

Thursday, August 9, 2007 evidences the return of Pelican. One of the single best middle-bands we saw last year. Sandwiched between the underrated Terentel from San Francisco and the underrated at 12 Mono from Japan, we witnessed the amazing 35-minute set from Pelican.

Pelican is set to appear with Clouds and It's Casual on Thursday, August 9, 2007 at The Casbah. Corner of Laurel and Kettner in downtown San Diego if you've been living under a fucking rock.

I know I have.

Octopus Project to Play Beauty Bar?!?!

HOLD THE PHONE!!!

The 2006 Coachella Sunday first act Outdoor Theatre surprise, Austin Texas' The Octopus Project, are not only coming to San Diego, but they're playing at The Beauty Bar.

The Beauty Bar is the closest cool bar to my new place over here in the little-known neighborhood of Darnall. Native to San Diego and you've never heard of it? Yeah, join the club.

Here's the tour and album information, straight from Pitchfork:
